About Marion

Marion was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1964 to German-Swiss parents and was raised bilingual in German and Spanish.

From an early age Marion was fascinated with photographic cameras and their capabilities of capturing a moment in time that could be printed and displayed for generations to come. By the age of 6 she received her own first camera, a Holga she used for many years photographing her friends and family. She loved helping her friends look their best, which she accomplished by secretly digging into her mother’s closet of accessories and makeup.

Marion was in college studying Education and Arts when she was offered a part-time opportunity to model. From there, she quickly became the photographer's and the wardrobe coordinator's assistant in editorial stories for a fashion magazine in Buenos Aires. She discovered that her passion laid in helping the model look and feel her best. Her natural gift of connecting with women and understanding their needs and fears had a powerful impact in the photographs. In 1988 Marion moved to the US where she pursued her career as a photographer. She graduated from the New York Institute of Photography and later attended 3 years of courses in fine art photography at the Gibbs Museum in Charleston, SC. There she discovered her passion for the dark room and printing. In the mid 90's, Marion started her own business as a freelance photographer. She has worked as an editorial, commercial, and advertising photographer for national companies and magazines and has traveled all over the country and Canada to fulfill her assignments.

She has also participated in countless charity events donating her time and photography in the US and worldwide.

Marion strongly believes that the technical aspect of lighting and camera controls are a given for any professional photographer, but what sets Marion apart is her caring approach to people's needs, desires and comfort zones. Marion's experience and expertise, combined with her fun, outgoing and caring personality, culminate in remarkable photographs that reveal a person's true beauty and soul.
